A Malaysian woman experienced the shock of her life recently after she found a complete stranger driving her car at Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA).

Thinking that it was one of her family members who was using the car to pick her and her mother up at KKIA after they just arrived in Sabah from Kuala Lumpur, the woman was instead confronted by a random stranger when she tried to put her luggage inside her own car.

The woman thought her family member was using her car to pick her up at KKIA

The woman, Intan Natachka, took to Facebook to share the absurd situation she found herself in, though she does find humour in what had transpired.

As of the time of writing, the Facebook post has gone viral with over 1,200 reactions and 1,000 shares.

In the post, Intan shared how when she arrived at KKIA from Kuala Lumpur with her mother, 2 family members were on the way to pick them up at the airport.

When she exited the airport door, she noticed her car was parked at the arrival gate and assumed that her family member used her car to pick them up. Intan then went to the back of her car and opened the boot to put her luggage inside.

She found a random Chinese woman using the car instead

However, as she was doing this, a Chinese woman suddenly disembarked from the car and confronted her, asking Intan if she had the wrong vehicle.

Shocked, Intan thought she had mistaken a stranger’s car for her own but after examining the items that were inside the boot, as well as the plate number, she confirmed that it was indeed her car.

Intan then told the stranger that the car belonged to her and asked the latter who she was and why was she using her car.

The Chinese woman then told Intan that the car had been sold, leaving her further confused and shocked.

Intan then responded to the stranger asking how could that be possible as she had never put her car up for sale.

Her car was being misused by a workshop staff’s family

Well, as it turns out, Intan’s car was actually misused by the family of a mechanic at a workshop where Intan had sent her car.

By chance, the mechanic’s family misused the car to pick up their friend at KKIA at the exact same time when Intan arrived at the airport from Kuala Lumpur.

Despite all that transpired, Intan found the whole situation to be rather humorous and ended up laughing about it with her family members afterwards.

Netizens unsure whether to be angry or amused

In the comments, many Malaysians were shocked by the incident too and praised the way Intan handled the situation.

One commenter said that she’s confused on whether to leave an angry or laughing emoji reaction to Intan’s story as on one hand, misusing someone’s car is an offence while on the other, there’s humour in the absurdity of the whole thing.
