Work can easily be one of the things that consumes an individual’s life. Many people would choose to put their work above everything else in life and when they encounter certain challenges, it would be hard to navigate.
Just recently, a Malaysian has shared that he hasn’t been feeling the best and how it has affected his career life. In his post, he said,
“I would like to ask for some advice. How do I put my emotions aside when I’m at work? I may be an adult, but sometimes I still feel really immature as I’m unable to put my personal problems away when I’m at work.”
The man then shared about the things he has gone through in September which includes,
- Family problems
- Losing his identity card (IC)
- Computer issues causing him to not be able to work properly
- Minor misunderstanding within colleagues
He then continued in his post saying,
“With so many minor problems happening to me, it’s starting to make me lose focus when I’m at work and I would always lash out at other people or overthink on something someone said to me.
I’ve lost my will and motivation to work and would constantly produce work that isn’t up to quality. I know this isn’t right but I’m not sure what can I do to help me focus and realign myself.”
He then ended the post saying that he hopes that October will be a month filled with blessings and expressed that he doesn’t want to go through another month filled with negative emotions.
Many netizens empathised with his situations and offered him some advice and encouragement:
“Once you get through the toughest part, everything will be okay again. Keep it up, you can do it!”
“When I’m stressed, I would choose to spend some time with myself and do things that I love. For example: going for karaoke, watching a movie or maybe even go on a short trip on my own. I think these are activities that can help you relieve stress and reenergise.”
“Breathe. It’s just a bad day, not a bad life.
Other than life or death, everything else in this life is just a small matter.”
“Whatever happened today, just leave it. Tell yourself that after tonight, whatever troubles you have will go away tomorrow. Let yourself go and forgive yourself.
Tomorrow is a new day. You need to fix the issues in hand logically. If you can’t, please reach out for help, don’t give yourself too much pressure. Just take it easy and communicate.
You are your own peacemaker, treat this as a learning experience for yourself. If you face the same issues in the future, you’ll know how to handle it. Keep it up!”
“You need to take a break. You should apply for leave and let yourself recharge. Once you’re fully recharged, everything will be okay. All the best!”
It’s truly heartwarming to see how encouraging our society can be. Life is never easy, but we hope that you won’t give up and continue to push forward. Keep up the good work fellow Malaysians, you’re enough as long as you’ve tried your best.
