22yo Motorcyclist Killed On The Spot After Running Klang Red Lights & Hitting an Axia While Street Racing

Three illegal riders (Mat Rempit) ran the red lights in Klang and hit a Perodua Axia, resulting in the death of one of the riders.

The other two riders sustained major injuries and are currently receiving treatment at Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah, Klang.

South Klang Police Chief, in a statement, said the accident happened at the traffic light in Kampung Raja Uda around 4:10 AM on Sunday (April 20). At that time, the Axia driver was turning right after the lights turned green before the riders ran the red lights from the opposite direction and hit the car.

The driver was headed from Port Klang to Jalan Kim Chuan and did not sustain any injury.

The deceased rider was 22 years old. He passed away at the scene due to severe injuries to the head.

Meanwhile, the injured riders were a 22-year-old and a 16-year-old, with the latter suffering major injuries on his right leg. The matter is being investigated under Section 41(1) Road Transportation Act 1987. Earlier, a video went viral on social media showing chaos in the area with a group of motorcyclists swarming the scene.

Additionally, PDRM also urged road users to be vigilant on the road. Parents and legal guardians are also reminded to supervise their children and make sure they are not involved in any criminal activities.
