He loves me, he loves me not. He loves me, so he saved up for 3 years and it’s a lot!
Most of us have heard of lemang (bamboo rice), a traditional delicacy enjoyed by many during the Raya season. However, a newly wedded groom just made “lemang duit” to marry his lady, as people do wondrous things when they’re in love.
3 days ago, a video went viral on TikTok about how a man named Farhan Sam had managed to save up lots of RM5s, RM10s and RM20s in a BAMBOO TUBE to finally marry his bride!!
After dating for 11 years, Farhan managed to finally save a whopping amount. The young chap decided to save up using a bamboo tube as you can only insert money and the only way to take it out is by breaking it.
That’s not even the most romantic part of this story. Farhan had kept this a secret from his bride all along only to surprise her with all the money, a day before they tied the knot.
The video shows Farhan sitting with a group of people calculating his savings, fast forward to a friend filming him cutting the bamboo tube open, overflowing with cash. It appears that the TikTok user is now married with the caption stating, “Thank God, Paan Sam (his TikTok name) is now off the market“.
The video has garnered over 1.4M views as of time of writing.
Here’s what netizens think of the love birds:
“The effort is what counts, congratulations bro and happy married life.”
