The Malaysian Independent Animal Rescue has been trying to get some crowdfunding going in an effort to pay the rent to their shelter which ends on 30th November 2020.

Home to the sick, senior, junior, and newly rescued dogs, they have really had some tough times keeping up with rent.

Realizing the need to step up and help, @faizdickievp sought the help of the Malaysian public in an effort to raise some funds to help keep the animal shelter open.

To what began as only a few hundred ringgit, the amount he has successfully collected to date has gone well over RM30k.

Taking to Instagram, he writes, “In the beginning, my intention was only to spread the word that MIAR needed RM16,000 to pay for their rent.”

“I ended up initiating a donation run on my own and woe behold in just three days we have managed to collect RM30,508, almost double the initial target of RM16,000.”

To show the great work that MIAR has done for pooches around Malaysia here are some of the rescues and cases they have handled in the past.

In this case, MIAR writes, “This dog is very sick and full of ticks. He can’t walk properly and has been lying under the car.”

If you feel compelled to lend them a helping hand, or give a pet a forever home, visit the Malaysian Independent Animal Rescue Facebook page to know more about what you can do to help.

We’re sure the assistance you provide will go a long way.
