A Malaysian man was arrested after he was found to have syabu (Methamphetamine) in his system when he took a drug test by the National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK) during an interview for a civil servant position in Sibu, Sarawak.
Sibu District AADK took to their Facebook page to share how the 27-year-old man’s desire to hold a position in the public sector was thwarted due to the positive drug test.

They wrote, “The 27-year-old man was arrested after failing to pass the initial urine test conducted by the Sibu District National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK). The screening was conducted during an interview session for a position at the Sarawak Public Service Commission (SPANS) here recently.”
“The initial screening test results found the suspect to be positive for Methamphetamine (Syabu).”
The man is currently being investigated under Section 3(1) of the Drug and Substance Abusers and Addicts (Treatment and Rehabilitation) Act 1983.
Don’t do drugs!
AADK went on to explain that the man’s arrest shows the firmness of the authorities in ensuring that prospective civil servants are free from drug abuse and illicit substances before being absorbed into the public sector.
“AADK will continue to intensify enforcement to achieve the goal of ‘Controlled Drugs 2030’.”
