A heartbreaking story has struck a chord with many Malaysians, involving a Bangladeshi national working in Malaysia to support his family back home.
The man’s Malaysian employer, @zettyadilaaa, shared the story on Threads, revealing how her staff received the devastating news of his eldest child’s passing.

A foreign worker’s grief far from home
According to the post, Zetty shared how the man, a father struggling to earn a living far from home, was left heartbroken after receiving news that his child had passed away.
“A father trying to make ends meet far from home was devastated after learning that his eldest child had died,” she wrote.
Naturally worried, Zetty asked if he had enough money to travel back home to be with his family during such a difficult time. His reply was gut-wrenching:
“I don’t have any money left. I’ve already sent everything I had back to my family.”
He revealed that his 4-year-old had tragically died after drowning
The employee also shared the heartbreaking news that his child, only 4 years old, had passed away after falling and drowning.
“Madam, my 4-year-old has passed away. My child fell and drowned,” he told Zetty.
Moved by his plight, Zetty stepped in to cover his flight back to Bangladesh.
“I don’t even know how to describe this feeling. I immediately bought a flight ticket for him to return home to Bangladesh. When we make things easier for others, may Allah make things easier for us too,” she said.

Netizens started flooding the comments section

“How heartbreaking. But it’s okay, his 4-year-old child is surely a ‘child of paradise’ and will be waiting for him in the afterlife. It’s a loss in this world, but a blessing in the hereafter. Allah is Most Just. Pain in this world, but happiness in the afterlife.”

“Allahuakbar, it’s so heartbreaking, he had to leave his child far away in another country just to earn a living. I wonder how many years they’ve been apart.”

“You could see the sadness written all over his face.”

“So sad. A father’s heart is broken as he faces the body of his beloved child. May the kind employer be blessed with more success and good fortune.”

“May things always go smoothly for a kind employer like you (Zetty), and may the father’s efforts to earn a living also be made easier.”
