Admit it, how many of us here are guilty of going against the traffic light when there is no oncoming traffic?

Yesterday (14 December), PDRM shared on their Facebook account an incident where a couple on a motorcycle went through the red light in Kuala Lumpur city.

The caption reads,

“Only proceed when the light turns green.”

The video was captured on a dashcam attached to another motorcycle. The couple was unaware that there was a policeman on the bike behind them. Before the traffic light could turn green, they decided to go.

And you may have already guessed what happened next. The police immediately pursued the couple on the motorcycle.

Fortunately, it did not turn out to be a long chase as the police managed to stop the couple by the road not far from the traffic light.

You can watch the full video below.

Don’t go against the traffic light!

The video has since garnered more than 1,900 likes and 254 shares. Netizens have also reminded the people to always abide by the traffic rules.

Don’t do something dangerous. No matter how sneaky you are, you will still be caught someday.”

A minimum of RM300 fine for going against the red light. You can pay if you can do it.”

Some even joked about the situation.

“It’s a misunderstanding. Maybe he thought the honk is to allow another VIP to pass through.”

Some also commented on how the police actually carried out his duty.

Good job police. A lot of motorcyclists are dead simply because they went against the light. The summon saved him. Your 1 second of selfishness may end up in death.”

If you’re one of those who does this, it is definitely best to stop endangering your life and others!
