Last week, it was reported that a 15-year-old girl with an intellectual disability had gone missing after she had gone to the toilet during a lion dance performance in Bandar Lama, Kuala Lipis, Pahang.

Thankfully, the girl has since been found and reunited with her mother.

According to a report by Sin Chew Daily, the girl disappeared as she had been taken by her grandmother to her aunt’s house in Jerantut without her mother’s knowledge.

Missing 1

A Jerantut resident spotted the missing girl and called her mother, leading to the police recovering her and returning her to Kuala Lipis.

Her mother then received a call from the Kuala Lipis police at 3am on Saturday (February 8), informing her that her daughter was in their custody. The girl was later brought back to her mother by family friends, who went to the police station to pick her up.

“My mother-in-law took my daughter to her second aunt’s house in Jerantut by train,” the mother shared.

Considering that her daughter has been returned to her safely, she has ultimately decided not to pursue the matter further.
