It’s been raining pretty badly for the past few weeks, but it looks like that’s about to change sooner than you think!
According to an official announcement on the Malaysian Meteorological Department’s (MET) Facebook page, the Southwest monsoon winds have begun to roll in, and the official start of the season is estimated to be on the 1st of June (fun fact: it’s also when the Goods and Services Tax will officially be reduced to 0%!).

The strong Southwest monsoon winds are expected to blow from the 1st of June all the way through to September 2018, and it is predicted that West Malaysia and Sarawak will see less rain and warmer weather.
Yay, we’ve missed our sunny days!
However, Sabah is expected to experience a lot more rain compared to other states during this season. So, prepare yourselves for a lot of wet days ahead, Sabahans! Meanwhile, Malaysians everywhere else should prepare for the dry weather and keep themselves hydrated. As for those who are fasting, try not to exert yourselves too much in the hot weather!
