A tragic accident on October 9 last year claimed the lives of three UiTM Dungun students after their motorcycles were struck by a speeding driver.
As previously reported by WORLD OF BUZZ, the 49-year-old woman (at the time) behind the wheel was believed to be mentally unwell, had no record of mental health treatment, and did not possess a valid driver’s license.
She’s allowed to be released on bail of RM40k
In a new development, the High Court today (June 17) granted bail to the accused, Norizan Ismail (now 50), allowing her to be released on RM40,000 bail with two sureties while awaiting trial.
Several strict conditions were also imposed, including the requirement for her to report to the nearest police station twice a month during the first and third weeks. She is also prohibited from driving any vehicle, and her guarantors or husband must ensure she has no access to vehicle keys and is not given any under any circumstances.
Additionally, she is not allowed to leave her home without her husband, must undergo treatment at a designated hospital, and is strictly prohibited from contacting any witnesses until the trial concludes.
The bail will be revoked if she violates any of the conditions
The court also ruled that if the accused violates any of the bail conditions, the bail will be automatically revoked.
Earlier, the mother of three had pleaded not guilty to charges under Sections 302 and 307(1) of the Penal Code.
Norizan is accused of murdering Muhammad Akmal Md Tukirin (25), Ku Adib Aizad Ku Azmi (20), and Khairil Anuar Jamaluddin (20).
She also faces an attempted murder charge involving 20-year-old Muhammad Ammar Danish Mohammad Ridhuan, who sustained injuries in the incident.
The court has scheduled the trial to take place from May 3 to May 6 next year.
