Football fans, this may excite you!
Sikh Izhan Nazril, a Malaysian goalkeeper who is only 19 years old is currently representing our country and undergoing his training at Fuenla Academy in Spain.
Since the training is in Spain, Izhan said that this is definitely a new culture for him and that he has a lot to learn from their cultures as well.
To be someplace you have never been, it is definitely a culture shock as there is much to endure and adapt to. As the weather in Malaysia and Spain are different, the manner in which football is played is also different.
“In Spain, football is played in higher levels and the intensity is also high,” he said.
Fortunately, the friends that Izhan made during his training in Spain are not treating him like a stranger as he feels like he is mingling around with his own friends.
Additionally, what he likes about the training centre in Spain is the access to modern facilities which is significantly different from what he is used to in Malaysia. Aside from that, he is also in love with the stadium in Spain, which has left him the desire to stay there even longer in order to understand more about the culture of the place.
Things are going great!
Izhan said that so far, things are progressing smoothly.
“The end of the transfer window is coming, so it means I might just stand the chance to play here,” he added.
In football terms, the transfer window means the period during the year in which a football club can transfer players from other playing staff into their playing staff.
He ensured that he will do his very best for Malaysia as it is also his family and his dream to play in Spain. You can watch the full interview below.
We wish him all the best and we are certainly proud of him for bringing the name of our country to an international scale.
