Animal attacks are something every person should be aware of, especially when it pertains to those that are often referred to as “wild creatures”. However, it is also important to remember, that just like humans, all animals have a soul, soft side, and version of themselves that is sweet and kind.
A recent TikTok video has been making waves online after two Malaysian police officers named Corporal Zulhelmi and Corporal Al Amin took on a task to return a monkey back to the wild. Sharing the moment in a clip to the former’s TikTok page @peronda_siren_biru, Corporal Zulhelmi showed just how much effort they went through to return the monkey to its home – as it did not want to leave them.
At first, Corporal Al Amin attempted to place a banana at some part of the forest, in an attempt to make the monkey run towards it. However, that plan did not avail. Returning to their car, the animal playfully walked inside and on the dashboard of the duo’s police vehicle, before balancing itself on the window.
Towards the end of the clip, the monkey even laid on the roof of the police car, receiving belly rubs from Corporal Al Amin, thoroughly enjoying itself to say the least. Nevertheless, Corporal Al Amin and Zulhelmi did express their concern in releasing the monkey, as they instinctually felt that the creature was a domesticated one as opposed to being a wild monkey.
“Sometimes, it’s not just humans who need help, but animals too. Our mission was to bring this monkey back into the forest, as it was seen at a food stall nearby. Corporal Amin managed to control the situation and successfully let it back into the wild,” wrote Corporal Zulhelmi in the caption of his post.
Speaking briefly to WORLD OF BUZZ, Corporal Zulhelmi stated that the monkey was actually found in Damansara Damai, and that he and Corporal Al Amin managed to lure it away with a banana. Continuing on, Corporal Zulhelmi stated that while the animal had an issue at the beginning, as it did not want to return to the forest, it eventually did with some light coaxing.
Despite this, it was later revealed that the monkey’s name is Letchumi, and it belongs to a Malaysian who lives near the area, thereby proving the 2 policemen’s original gut instinct as accurate. Corporal Zulhelmi is currently working with Letchumi’s alleged owner to find it and return it home once more.
Receiving immense praise in the comments section, many users applauded Corporal Zulhelmi and Corporal Al Amin for their warm behaviour when approaching the situation. One user even stated that the monkey was calm due to feeling the corporals’ good vibes and energy.
“First of all, we can confirm that this policeman is an honest person and has a good heart. That’s why the animal gravitated towards him,” complimented one user.
