Let’s be honest. We all tell ourselves we’re not that scared of cockroaches until we actually see one in our house. Especially the ones that fly.

The real question is how far would you go to make sure these creepy crawlies never see the light of day again?

A man from the Fujian city of Quanzhou, China tried to create a makeshift flamethrower from insecticide and flames from his lighter to get rid of the cockroach in his kitchen once and for all.

According to The Beijing News, the man spotted a roach near his kitchen door on the night of 26th October.

Out of desperation to kill it and ensure that it stays dead, the man mixed insecticide and fire despite the well-known fact that insecticides are highly flammable and dangerous.

The mixture then caused a fire to break out right in the man’s kitchen! To make matters worse, the flames rose up and made contact with a metal pail that contained alcohol-based fuel.

This led to a massive explosion as the pail combusted into flames, causing the fuel to spew out to a roadside nearby. Unfortunately, this quickly spread to the cars that were parked on the road, and they were set on fire as well!

The fire was so severe that it ended up engulfing three cars. The unlucky owners had to suffer losses that amounted to a whooping RMB 311,400 (RM184,437).

While we all can relate to this guy’s fear of roaches, we wouldn’t try something like this at home. The best solution is to call your amma, they are indisputably the best cockroach killers.
