Speaking of working holidays, most of us would automatically think of South Korea and New Zealand. However, that’s not the case anymore because very soon, Malaysian youngster will have the opportunity to work while travelling in France!
That’s right, Malaysia’s Youth and Sports Minister Syed Saddiq broke this news today (18 February) while attending an event at University Malaysia Pahang. As reported by Sinchew, the minister confirmed that the French government has agreed to allocate 1,000 working holiday spots for Malaysians to work while travelling in the country of love. Oui, s’il vous plait (yes please)!
Syed further elaborated that the programme is tailor-made for Malaysians and applicants can work in France for up to two years. This is to allow youngsters to gain working experience in foreign countries while also getting to enjoy the rich culture of France. Croissants all day, every day!
In fact, a huge French company is ready to hop on this programme to provide work opportunities to Malaysian youngsters who are qualified. However, the name of the company remains unknown at the moment.
According to the official visa website of France, 14 countries have signed an agreement with the French government which allows their citizens to work and travel in France. Malaysia is not included in the list but we reckon that both governments are in the midst of ironing out the agreement.
We will update this article once France publishes all the requirements on their website. So stay tuned, guys!
