Just yesterday, a mother and her daughter were caught on CCTV for stealing 2 watches. The theft was believed to have taken place at Amanjaya Mall in Sungai Petani, Kedah.

The contributor of the footages wrote:

“They asked me to shorten the watch straps. While I was doing it, they quietly stole the watches. You’re a woman, don’t you feel ashamed of yourself?”

From the footages, the duo pretended to be looking around the stall whilst the store was unattended by any employee. Then, the daughter pointed to a black watch which the mother picked up along with the box to have a closer look.

Then she quietly removed the watch and returned the empty box for display. And she’s doing all of these in front of her daughter.

The duo then employed the same tactic and stole another watch in a pink box. Similarly, they placed the box back to avoid detection by the stall owner.

After the footages went viral, netizens were angry at the mother for teaching her daughter how to steal and leading her astray at such a young age.

“This is so saddening, a mother and her daughter stealing watches together. The daughter’s future has been ruined by her mother,” a netizen said.

“If you can’t afford it, then don’t wear it. Why do you have to stoop so low and resort to stealing? Don’t you feel ashamed of yourself? You will only regret when you get caught,” another netizen commented.

Parents are supposed to be the role model for their children, but what this mother did was telling her daughter that ‘it’s okay to steal’. What kind of future will the little girl has if she continues down this path?

Here’s the video.
