It’s common for some people to learn an extra language or 2 nowadays which will ease their communication with others. Sometimes, it helps in knowing if someone is talking some bad things about you too.
Recently, a woman shared her unhappy experience in a phone accessories shop through a video that has been shared by Bayo Channel. She visited the shop around 9.40pm to get herself an iPhone cable and when she was there, the shop was getting ready to close. However, there was still a queue at the counter where a few people were making their payments.
She told one of the workers at the shop about what she was looking for, but the worker looked at his colleague and said something in Chinese:
“This Malay girl. We’re closing soon and to wait for her to purchase something that’s only RM20 is not worth it.”
Unbeknownst to them, the girl understood every word that they uttered. One of the workers approached her and asked if she could return tomorrow, to which she responded in Chinese.
“What did your friend say about me just now? I can understand her, I went to Chinese school as well,” she said.
One of the workers immediately offered her a free iPhone cable but she rejected it. She reiterated that she was not there for free items and she had money to purchase but all she wanted was respect among each other. Before she left the place without her purchase, she gave the workers a friendly reminder.
“Make sure no one understands you before trash talking about someone in front of them.”
You can watch and listen to the full clip below.
The location of the shop, however, was not disclosed. Regardless, it is always best to maintain professionalism while you’re at work and not to trash talk about customers.
