Running an online business is tough these days as it’s getting more and more competitive. With the pandemic forcing a lot of businesses to go online, the competition has increased by tenfold and a lot of smaller brands are struggling to survive.

Acrylics by Sa is run by Alissa Ayub a.k.a Sa, a 24-year-old student who is currently completing her diploma in Software Engineering. She also does freelance administrative and design work.
Acrylics by Sa does custom acrylic plaques where you can custom designed acrylic plaques of your favourite song/playlist on Spotify, photo collages, weekly planner and etc. They are CHIC and AESTHETIC looking plaques that you can decorate your room with or give away as gifts!
Alissa stumbled upon Spotify plaques while surfing on Instagram and got inspired to make one for her own. Ultimately, it was her friends and mother who supported her to pursue this business venture after seeing how beautifully her plaques turned out.

“From managing the social media accounts and producing the final products, Acrylics by Sa is a one-woman-show,” said Alissa.
She collects orders through batches where she takes a minimum of three working days to complete each batch. She loves producing custom designs that customers come up with. Hence she tries her very best to make it as perfect as possible! One of her busiest moments was during December where she received around 60 orders when she launched her acrylic ornaments for Christmas.
In the future, Acrylics by Sa wants to bring in customised acrylic signs and place card holders for all sorts of events but due to the pandemic, her plans are currently on hold. For those who ordered from Alissa before, she is planning to revamp acrylic plaques where customers can change the details on their existing piece so look out on her social media for updates!
