Coming this March, be transported into the spooky yet whimsical world of legendary filmmaker, Tim Burton! The World of Tim Burton exhibition will be setting up shop at Pavilion Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur from March 21 (Tuesday) to July 30 (Sunday).
And the best part, Tim Burton himself will be in Kuala Lumpur to launch the exhibition!
According to New Straits Times, the man himself will be present at the exhibition on March 21 where fans can rub shoulders with him during his first trip to Malaysia.
With cult classics like Beetlejuice (1988), Edward Scissorhands (1990), Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993), Big Fish (2003), Corpse Bride (2005), Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007), Alice in Wonderland (2010) and the latest Netflix sensation Wednesday (2022) under his belt, who wouldn’t want to get a glimpse into how he became the pioneer in a dreamy, grotesque, and beautiful cinematography appropriately dubbed ‘Burtonesque’.
The exhibition will feature numerous works from Tim Burton’s early ages to the most recent project across mediums of sketches, paintings, drawings, photographs, maquettes and puppets he used for his film works, and life-sized sculptures.
The World of Tim Burton will categorise Tim Burton’s extensive career of five decades into 10 thematic sections. Visitors will also have a special opportunity to sneak peek his current projects in progress through the exact replica of Tim Burton’s personal studio where he actually works!
