It has become a rare sight to find employers in Malaysia who truly value and appreciate their staffs’ hard work, loyalty and dedication.

But, every once in a while, there is a boss that stands out from the crowd through their recognition of their workers efforts.

Netizen, Vincent | 探长, recently took to his TikTok page to showcase how a restaurant owner in Kuching, Sarawak, had bought a Perodua Myvi for his staff of more than 3 years, in appreciation for his hard work.

Vincent | 探长 wrote, “We witnessed a touching moment in Kuching.”

In the video, the restaurant owner, called Mr. Damith, had asked Vincent | 探长 to accompany him as he went to buy the Myvi as a gift to his staff member.

“It’s a way of showing them how grateful I am towards their commitment and their responsibility that they do everyday,” he said when asked why he was buying the car for his employee.

Mr. Damith also explained that, prior to his employment, the staff member had been affected by bad influences and couldn’t find a job. Though, the staff member ended up working for him and ultimately turned his life around!

Following his conversation with Vincent | 探长, Mr. Damith then picked up the Myvi, drove it to his restaurant and surprised his staff member with his generous gift!

The staff member, who was clearly touched by the gesture, wiped his eyes and gave his boss a big hug before he checked out his car.

“Today, I witnesses a touching moment. Most of the time, bosses are willing to take responsibility for all their employees. We hope to have more bosses like this. We hope everyone has a great working environment,” Vincent | 探长 added.
