A restaurant in KL recently went viral after an image of an upside-down Jalur Gemilang was spotted outside the place.
The management of the said restaurant, Bombay Palace, has since apologised for the matter and assured the public that the blunder was unintentional.

In its official statement last night (August 26), Bombay Palace said they were informed about the inaccurate position of the Jalur Gemilang on Monday (August 25) around 11 AM, and immediately took corrective action. Bombay Palace also mentioned that the flag was hoisted by one of its employees, and due to his negligence, he did not realise the incorrect position of the Malaysian flag.
“We deeply regret this incident, and with a full sense of responsibility, we sincerely apologise to the public. We truly regret this grave mistake.”
In the statement, Bombay Palace also said that every year during the National month, they proudly displayed the Jalur Gemilang, and acknowledged that the blunder had caused confusion and public concern.
“To prevent such incidents from happening, we will strengthen monitoring and implementation procedures, as well as enhance vigilance and attentiveness.”
“We apologise to the public, and we pledge to uphold the dignity of the nation.”
Dang Wangi Deputy Police Chief Nuzulan Din confirmed that his department received a report on the incident at 12.07 PM on Monday. He said that statements were taken from the business premises owner and the worker who installed the flag.

The case is being investigated under Section 5 of the Emblems and Names (Prevention of Improper Use) Act 1963 and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955, reported Berita Harian.
