This Mid-Autumn Festival, Sunway Resort Hotel invites guests into The Garden of Moonlight, a celebration inspired by one of the festival’s most enduring symbols, the lantern.
Shedding light on a momentous celebration
For centuries, lanterns lit up Mid-Autumn evenings, guiding loved ones home, carrying whispered wishes into the night and transforming gardens into places of warmth, reunion and quiet wonder. More than decorative ornaments, they have long represented hope, prosperity, and togetherness, shining a gentle light that brings generations together beneath the autumn moon.
Drawing inspiration from this cherished tradition, Sunway Resort Hotel reimagines the lantern as both a keepsake and an experience. At the heart of this year’s collection is a beautifully crafted premium gift box inspired by the elegant silhouette of a traditional Chinese lantern. Finished in a serene jade hue with intricate lattice cut-outs that allow a gentle glow to shine through, the design pays homage to the artistry of classic lantern craftsmanship while embracing a refined contemporary aesthetic. Delicate floral illustrations bloom across the exterior, echoing the tranquil beauty of moonlit gardens where Mid-Autumn traditions come to life.

Guests may savour timeless favourites including White Lotus Paste with Single Egg Yolk, Pure Red Bean and Assorted Fruits & Nuts, or indulge in contemporary creations such as Sea Salt Chocolate, Cendol with Coconut, Longan Custard with Black Sesame and Lychee with Coconut. Pre-orders are available with The Garden of Moonlight Signature Premium Gift Box priced at MYR288.00 nett, while individual mooncakes are available at MYR45.00 nett each. Guests who place their orders by 9 August 2026 will enjoy an Early Bird Saving of 15%.
