One of the superstitions that is heavily followed in Malaysia is to not use the number 4, especially to label building floors and so forth, because the number 4 sounds like the word ‘death‘ in Mandarin and Cantonese. Hence, many instead use 3A to substitute the number 4.

With that being said, 2024 is officially cancelled and will now be known as 2023A, as told by a local kopitiam.

Jia (Home) Kopitiam, located in Danau Kota, Kuala Lumpur, took to their Facebook page to advertise their 2024 (Oops, we mean 2023A) calendar to their customers.

They wrote, “2023A calendar is now ready! Come #Home and get your copy now. In the year 2023A, it’s prosperous everyday.”

The calendar is just like any other calendar you’d see in people’s houses but instead of it being labeled 2024, it’s labeled as 2023A.

Their creativity has left netizens amused and wanting a 2023A calendar for themselves!

Calendar 4 1

“I want 2, thank you!”

One netizen even pointed out that the kopitiam should change every number 4 on the calendar to 3A.

Calendar 2

“Want to be unique? Might as well be a little more thorough.”

You know what, we want one too. You can check out their calendar here.
