This is such a heartwarming incident! It isn’t easy to be a foreign worker in a strange land as you work hard to save money to send back to your family and this Malaysian man decided to spread a bit of kindness when he saw a foreign worker eating in an airport restaurant.

In a post that was shared on Facebook, he said he saw the foreign worker eating but he was curious when he saw the rather unusual meal that the man was having, which was just a plate of white rice, some curry gravy on top and two eggs. He approached the worker and asked him why he did not take any vegetables or meat.

The foreign worker’s reply was rather heartwrenching, as he said that he had sent all his money back to his country and he had less than RM30 to last him until the end of the month. He added that he was actually giving himself a little treat that day as he had taken two eggs because he would usually eat rice and curry gravy only. OMG, so kesian!

The guy said, “After I heard that, I slipped quietly over to one of the stalls in the airport and decided to buy two pieces of fried chicken that cost a total of RM10. I brought it over to the foreign worker and told him nicely that I was in a rush and did not have enough time to eat the chicken. I asked him to help me eat the chicken as it would be a waste to throw it away just like that.”

When the worker heard that, he was rather touched and had red-rimmed eyes as he accepted the fried chicken. The man gave him the pieces of chicken and took his luggage to quickly walk away to leave the worker to enjoy his chicken.

He concluded in his post by saying that he decided to do this because he used to be very poor and could not afford to eat meat, so he would do the same and eat rice with only curry gravy too. “At that time, a stranger approached me as well and bought two pieces of fried chicken for me so I only wanted to pay this bit of kindness forward,” he added.

The post went viral as a majority of netizens were touched by his act of kindness. However, some of them said that it wasn’t necessary to share acts of kindness publicly. Later, the man replied in another post, saying that he only shared it with everyone as he wanted to spread some positivity and kindness on Facebook.

No matter what the guy’s motive was, the foreign worker must be really happy that he had extra fried chicken to feast on that day!
