Earlier, Kedah’s Housing, Health, and Local Government Exco, Mansor Zakaria, went viral for remarks that upset the people of Sabah.

In a video from the DUN session, Mansor appeared to suggest that winning over Sabah’s voters was as simple as handing out Gardenia bread, referring to the state election campaign.

“It wasn’t my intention to insult them”

Mansor’s comments sparked reactions from various parties, prompting him to come forward and address the matter personally.

He explained that he issued the apology after realising that his remarks had unintentionally offended the people of Sabah.

“I apologise. I did not intend to insult the people of Sabah,” he said.

“I don’t want to make this issue bigger than it is”

He later explained that he was merely discussing what had been said in Sabah about Kedah.

He also stressed that he never meant to offend anyone and humbly asked for his apology to be accepted.

“Looking back, I really didn’t intend to insult the people of Sabah. We were just discussing what was shared in Sabah about Kedah and making a comparison. Therefore, I don’t want to make this issue bigger than it is,” he said.
