The plot thickens!

Just last week, the infamous businessman, Low Taek Jho (popularly known as Jho Low), who is widely believed to be involved in the 1MDB scandal, is being pursued by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) as part of their investigation into what has been dubbed the world’s biggest financial scandal.

Jho Low’s exact location is still a mystery, which has even led to an anonymous individual offering RM100,000 to anyone with information about the elusive businessman’s whereabouts.

Now, according to the Malaysian Insight, the wanted businessman, who was previously believed to be in Macau, is now reportedly in Dubai, where he hopes to meet with the special task force investigating the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) scandal.

Their report also claims that his lawyers are expected to meet with officials from the MACC in the United Arab Emirates to discuss how Jho Low can assist with investigations. His lawyers reportedly told the news portal that they are already discussing the matter with the Malaysian authorities.

1MDB investigators believe that Jho Low can help identify where assets like jewellery that have been bought with 1MDB funds have been hidden.

When news of the 1MDB scandal first broke in 2015, the businessman kept a low profile and has been on the run. He has been able to avoid pursuit from Malaysian authorities under the previous Barisan Nasional government, but under the new Pakatan Harapan administration, investigations are now in full swing.

So, let’s see what comes of this supposed meeting between Jho Low and the 1MDB investigators! Get your popcorn ready, y’all!
