As the bribery trial of former Goldman Sachs Group Inc. banker Roger Ng over the 1MDB scandal continues, more details into the lavish lifestyle of the infamous Jho Low is coming to light.
Based on a report by The Straits Times, Kirk Godby, a marketing executive at the Venetian in Las Vegas has since testified in the trial, revealing to a jury in New York of Low’s extravagant losses at the resort’s casino.
In a single, 90-minute game at a Baccarat table, Low lost $1.75 million (RM7,351,750.00). Overall, Low had bet a total of $87 million (RM365,574,000.00) and lost about $26 million (RM109,226,000.00) during his stint at the Venetian.
“He was extremely extravagant. He had requests that were parallel to none. He made requests like he wanted disco balls, dance floors and DJs,” Godby said.
Godby, who’s job as he describes it is to “get people in the casino, get them in the door”, also shared that Low was known as a ‘premium’ guest at the resort for he spends more than US$50,000 (RM210,100.00) there.
He has even placed US$4 million (RM16,808,000.00) in bets while gambling during a previous visit alongside Ng.
