After getting into heated arguments with your spouse, it’s always good to take a breather outside to calm down and gather your thoughts. But this man ended up walking 450km for one week!

According to Independent, the 48-year-old Italian man was exasperated after having an argument with his wife and decided to take a walk to soothe his anger.

Even though he lived in Como, located in the far north of Italy on the Swiss border, the man managed to walk all the way to Fano, a small town on the Adriatic coast.

However, with the Covid-19 outbreak still ongoing in most countries, the man was arrested after he breached Italy’s lockdown curfew rules which states that people cannot go out from 10pm to 5am. Police officers picked up the man at 2am and discovered that he had been walking for one week, during which he walked about 64km a day.

At first, they did not believe that he could’ve walked so far, but after checking his name, they found that his wife had reported him missing in Como a week earlier.

Italian media reported that the man was found cold and tired but seemed lucid. He admitted that he didn’t even realise how far he had gone during his walk to clear his head. He said that he could survive because he was given food by strangers during his walk.

“I’m fine, just a little tired,” he told the officers.

The man’s wife later came to collect him and confirmed that he had walked out of their home in Como after having an argument a week ago and had not seen him since. She was told to pay the €400 (RM1,972) fine that was imposed on her husband for breaching Italy’s Covid-19 curfew.

How did this man even manage to walk for 450km? That’s like walking from Kuala Lumpur to Terengganu.
