The police are tracking down the owner of the Instagram account who uploaded a video of her making her two-year-old son smoke vape, which has since gone viral on social media.
According to Chief Assistant Director of the Sexual, Women and Child Investigations Division (D11), Assistant Commisioner Siti Kamsiah Hassan, no police report has been made over the video so far.
However, she said that the police are looking for the owner of the account for further investigation and to save the child, reported Harian Metro.
The baby’s father has also addressed the issue, saying that it was just a ‘joke’
“Thank you for all the advice, I want to apologise for wrongly educating my child. I’m not forcing or abusing him, I was just joking,” he said in a Facebook post sighted by Info Roadblock JPJ/POLIS.
“Anyone who follows my wife must know how my son is. He is quite tough and violent and likes to play with things that are not toys or for children. If he wants something, he must have it.”
“Whatever it is, I want to apologise for my mistakes. Thank you so much to those who showed concern for me, I forgive all those who do not know the story.”
Previously, the baby’s mother was called out for giving vape to her child, who can be seen grimacing after taking a puff. But she defended herself saying that she can do what she likes because the boy is her child.
