During a pickleball programme hosted by UMNO Youth at The Hood, Dewan Tun Razak, Dato’ Mohd Nazifuddin bin Datuk Seri Najib, more widely known as Nazif Najib, experienced a moment that deeply touched him.
An elderly makcik had travelled from afar and chosen to sit near his table. When Nazif approached her and casually asked where she was from, her answer genuinely caught him by surprise.

Driven by love for Najib, despite the event’s focus
With complete sincerity, she said she had come simply because she missed his father, Dato’ Seri Najib Razak. What made the moment even more emotional was the fact that the event itself had absolutely nothing to do with the jailed former Prime Minister.
“There were no political speeches. No banners. No posters. No special segment about Najib Razak. Yet the love and remembrance some Malaysians still carry for Najib remain incredibly strong,” Nazif said in his video.

Nazif noticed the makcik carrying a bag printed with a large photo of his father. As she spoke about how much she missed him, Nazif noticed her eyes slowly filling with tears. She shared that she constantly prays for a path towards justice for Najib, before softly asking Nazif to convey her salam (greetings) to his father.
A sentiment shared by everyday citizens
It was not only the makcik who shared such feelings that day. Nazif also claimed to have met several taxi drivers who spoke openly about missing the era when Najib led the country.
They shared concerns about the economic struggles they face today compared to the past and repeatedly asked for their greetings to be passed on to him.

For Nazif, moments like these serve as a reminder that loyalty and appreciation cannot be manufactured.
“They are built through memories, experiences, and the impact a leader leaves on ordinary people’s lives,” he added.
At the end of his video, Nazif expressed gratitude to everyone who continues to stand by his father through thick and thin, saying that their prayers, support, and remembrance mean more than words can describe.
