Now that the Covid-19 positive cases have risen again, there are risks when it comes to crossing interstate and inter-district borders despite the fact that Deepavali is just around the corner.
And here’s why;
In yesterdays press conference on the latest Covid-19 updates, Health DG, Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah spoke in regards to those who want to travel out of red zone areas and shared an example of a recent case where someone had traveled to Kelantan and infected four of their family members.

“There is a case where they traveled home to Kelantan and infected four of their family members. Now, we are conducting screenings on 127 individuals, in which 40 included are co-workers of the infected individual and the other 87 are acquaintances and close family members of the individual,” he shared.
“Hence, the Ministry of Health advises, if possible, to avoid crossing interstate and inter-district borders.”
As much as we miss our families and wish to get home via crossing interstate and inter-district borders, there will always be a risk of infecting our loved ones.
“If we head back to our home towns, there is the risk of us bringing the infection with us, especially to our parents, elderly people in our home towns and to the children and so forth,” he added.
We love our families members, which is why we wouldn’t want them to get infected, even if it was by accident. Hence, the least we could do is sit tight and wait for when the numbers start settling down again.
