Ummu Atiyah, the daughter of the former leader of Al-Arqam, Ashaari Muhammad, claims to have been a victim of violence and raped by a leader of GISB Holding Sdn Bhd (GISBH).

The incident happened when she was forced to marry a GISBH leader in 2015, whom she described as “disgusting.”

“He was old and had a fat tummy. I was disgusted with him and I really didn’t want to marry him,” Ummu said.

For the sake of escaping the old man, Ummu ran to Jordan to her friend’s house. Unfortunately, she couldn’t escape the man’s clutches.

“His followers and him came to Jordan and told me to surrender. I had to and I was asked to shake hands with the man as a sign of agreeing to marry him.”

She said that when she did so, she was separated from her child, taken to Turkey, and abused for refusing the GISBH leader’s demands until she was raped.

The sexual assault was not the only horror she had to go through. Ummu said that she was also tortured at the time.

“I was burned with a lighter and submerged in a pool. I was scared of dying from being submerged for over an hour, I gasped as I had swallowed a lot of water, my chest hurt, and I was forced to say yes.”

At the time of writing (October 19), most GISBH top leaders have been detained by PDRM following the raid of welfare houses, where the children were rescued from the unspeakable horrors.
