If you park your car at LRT stations to commute to work, here’s an important reminder.

Multiple car battery thefts have been reported by drivers who park their vehicles at the LRT Glenmarie station.

In a viral Instagram post by @baterikudotcom, a man warned LRT users, especially those who park at the station before boarding the train to be cautious or, better yet, to park elsewhere. In the highlighted case, the car was parked by the roadside, far from the station’s main entrance and out of sight.

The man acknowledged that parking spaces at the station are limited but cautioned the public against parking in the hilly roadside area far from the entrance.

“There have been many reports of car battery thefts in this area,” he said.

“In fact, this was the second time this man had his car battery stolen.”

In the video, he also advised everyone to park closer to the entrance and avoid the remote hilly areas.

Eyes on MyVi and Wira?

Previously, an LRT user shared with WORLD OF BUZZ his experience of having his car battery stolen though at a different location, near the LRT SS18 station in Subang Jaya. He claimed that the thieves may be targeting local car models, particularly the MyVi and Wira.

He discovered the theft when he couldn’t start his car and ended up spending RM1,200 to replace the stolen battery in his Wira Aeroback.

Additionally, several cars parked by the roadside near LRT Glenmarie were severely damaged after being hit by a trailer. Police reports have already been lodged regarding the incident.

Have you heard of any car battery or accessory thefts in the area where you park your car?
