A grandmother and her nine-year-old grandson were involved in a serious accident after the car they were in skidded and crashed onto a tree near SJKC Chung Kwo at Jalan Loke Yew, Kuala Lumpur today, 28 October.
Kuala Lumpur Fire Operations Center said that they received an emergency call around 6.15 am and, a total of ten members aboard two vehicles from the Pudu Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) were deployed to the scene.
Berita Harian reported that once the team arrived, they found the Proton Wira damaged with the two victims inside. A woman who was trapped in the driver’s seat was removed by the team and confirmed dead by a medical officer at the scene. The boy was released by the public.
The victim’s body has been released to the police for further actions. Her grandson who sustained a broken jaw and injuries on his face was sent to Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) for further treatment.
Head of Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) Kuala Lumpur, Assistant Commissioner Zulkefly Yahya informed that the victims’ identities have been confirmed. The case is being investigated in accordance with Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
We can’t imagine what the boy must be going through now. All we can do now is hope that he gets reunited with his family soon and have a speedy recovery.
