No act of kindness, however big or small, is ever wasted.
Recently, a Malaysian woman, Linda Latip (@linda.latip), took to her Instagram to share an incident she recently encountered with a kind and thoughtful GrabFood delivery guy, Meor.
On 27 May, Linda decided to order her usual coffee fix from Starbucks IOI Mall, Putrajaya. She logged on to GrabFood, placed her order, and patiently waited for the abang Grab to deliver it to her. Coffee lovers, you would understand her excitement!
When the GrabFood delivery guy finally arrived, Linda noticed he was late but it did not bother her as she was just glad she could finally drink her coffee.
All that was left was an empty cup
However, the moment Linda came out to collect her drink, the GrabFood delivery guy, Meor, immediately started to apologize to her as he had spilled her coffee while he was on his way. All that was left was an empty cup.
“As soon as he saw me, he immediately apologized and asked me for permission to buy a new one for me. I declined but he insisted and even offered me money,” Linda told WORLD OF BUZZ.
Linda added that she did not accept his money and that she knew that it was just an honest accident. Before leaving, Meor said he would come by the next day to replace her coffee.
“I still declined, although he was very persistent. Once he had left, I just rated him 5 stars and added a small tip for him through the Grab app,” Linda said.
A surprise at the door
The next day, right before Linda and her family were about to have their lunch, her son came into the house with a plastic bag in hand and said “Uncle bagi“.
“I opened the plastic bag and there was some kek lapis Sarawak and mangoes as well as a note from the rider,” Linda told WORLD OF BUZZ.
The note read:
“Assalamualaikum Kak, I am the GrabRider from yesterday. I am Meor. I feel very guilty for delivering your order to you till it had spilled. Here are some kueh and fruits, sincerely from my heart. You have a noble heart.”
At the end of the note, Meor gave his wishes, attached his phone number, and said to reach out to him if Linda ever needed any help in the future.
“Always give them a full star rating”
Linda took to opportunity to advise her followers to always leave a good rating for these food delivery riders.
“Always give them a full star rating or any kind of review but if you are upset, then just don’t rate them. Want to complain? Go via DM or WhatsApp or speak face-to-face. Don’t leave a bad rating at a place that would affect their income,” Linda wrote on her Instagram Story.
“Just by leaving 1 bad review, they would lose their credibility, lose the motivation to work, and lose their source of income,” Linda added.
Kudos to Meor for going the extra mile and to Linda for being so patient and understanding!
