Local rapper and social activist, Caprice has been making headlines over the past few weeks with the feud between Mydin and himself. Recently, a medical practitioner claimed that Caprice suffers from Histrionic Personality Disorder (HPD), but what does HPD really mean, clinically?
According to Cleveland Clinic, HPD illustrates unstable emotions, a distorted self-image, and the overwhelming desire to be noticed.
It is said that people with HPD tend to behave dramatically, or inappropriately to gain attention. Caprice himself, did not sit well with the “sudden diagnosis”, but he kept his cool and sent a message to the medical practitioner via an Instagram video.
“If I don’t have HPD, you’ll have to…”
In response to the diagnosis, Caprice said that he will meet with an expert and get himself diagnosed at Gleneagles Hospital in Kuala Lumpur sometime this week.
However, if the medical report proves that he does not suffer from HPD, Caprice has something that he wants the TikTok medical practitioner who diagnosed him to do.
“You have 24 hours to give free Panadols to everyone in your TikTok’s comment section.”
Caprice also said that it is very unprofessional for a medical practitioner to publicly diagnose someone.
“If this happens to anyone else, you might actually trigger them to do something stupid.”
“Anxiety & Insomnia”
Caprice has also admitted to seeing a psychiatrist since he was 18 for two things – anxiety and insomnia.
He said that he tends to get anxious if he stops working, which explains why he constantly gets himself occupied. Sometimes, he simply finds it tough to sleep at night.
In the meantime, he also urged the people who suffer from the same problem to get professional help. You can listen to his statement in the clip below.
Everyone is battling a silent war that they’re trying their best to hide from the sight of the world. As for Caprice, we shall wait and see what his medical report reveals.
Do you think that it’s okay for someone, regardless of his background to be diagnosed publicly?
