According to a PDRM statement, an ex-local professional footballer was detained by the police on 22 June for trespassing into a woman’s hotel room.
It is said that the incident took place at about 6.10pm in a hotel located in Kelana Jaya. The suspect, an ex-local professional footballer whom the victim had known prior to this had trespassed into her hotel room.
Astro Awani reports that he was aggressive toward the woman and had started a scene to the point that the victim had to call for help from hotel staff.
The man was then extracted by the staff while the woman left the hotel. Later on, she went to lodge a police report at 2.10am on 22 June.
Petaling Jaya district police chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said that the suspect was arrested on the afternoon of 22 June at Jalan Penchala, Petaling Jaya. He was also let out on police bail the same day.
The Assistant Commissioner added that this case will be investigated under Section 448 of the Penal Code for trespassing.
It is alleged that the suspect is an ex-national football player who was active in the 2000s, and is currently with Perak FC.
