A Malaysian woman recently made our country proud after winning not one, not two, but SIX outstanding awards from the prestigious Georgetown University in Qatar.
24-year-old Nusaybah binti Maszlee, a Bachelor of International Relations and Affairs student became the first Malaysian and Southeast Asian to achieve the feat.
Besides scoring a full 4.0 CGPA, Nusaybah received the Summa Cum Laude (with the highest distinction) award, the Dean’s List award, the most outstanding thesis and the Most Outstanding Student Award in the Political and International Relations field. Power!
Georgetown University in Qatar is a campus of the famous Georgetown University (Washington D.C.) in Education City, outside of Doha, Qatar.
If her name sounds familiar, it is because Nusaybah is the eldest daughter of former Education Minister Dr Maszlee Malik, who is also a very reputable individual in the academic field.
Nusaybah’s exploits have garnered the attention of the country, with many taking to social media to congratulate the achievement.
In fact, Nusaybah had the honour of having His Majesty Yang di-Pertuan Agong (YDPA) Al-Sultan Abdullah and Her Majesty Raja Permaisuri Agong (RPA) Tunku Azizah release a statement congratulating her.
As shared by Istana Negara’s official Facebook page, the YDPA and RPA expressed their delight and pride at Nusaybah’s accomplishment which has put Malaysia favourably in the eye of the world.
Moreover, the YDPA and RPA hoped that the achievement would become an inspiration to all Malaysians, especially the younger generation to work hard and achieve success in their respective fields.
Besides that, Nusaybah also received congratulatory remarks from Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution via a Twitter post.
Awesome! Congratulations Nusaybah for your accomplishments, Malaysia is really proud of you <3
