2 Vietnamese ‘doctors’ were among those arrested in raids at 2 condominium units in Kuala Lumpur by the Immigration Department and the Health Department on Monday (March 10) at 11am.

According to reports by New Straits Times and Sinar Harian, the ‘doctors’ were detained for offering illegal cosmetic surgeries, including nose reshaping and eyebrow augmentation, for prices ranging from RM1,000 to RM15,000.

It was discovered that these illegal plastic surgery services were being advertised on TikTok.

“I received 5% to 10% commission for each treatment booked by clients,” an agent of the illegal plastic surgery service shared following their arrest at one of the condominium units.

The condos were furnished with beds and surgical equipment

Kuala Lumpur Immigration Director Wan Mohammed Saupee Wan Yusoff shared that the condominium units raided were in Desa Petaling and Bukit Jalil respectively.

“The Bukit Jalil condominium unit raid led to the detention of 5 Vietnamese (individuals) and one local. The second raid in Desa Petaling resulted in the detention of 4 Vietnamese (individuals) and one local,” he said.

Each unit allegedly had a treatment room furnished with beds and equipment, which included scalpels and scissors that were kept in an oven under the beds. The medication found on the scene is believed to have been imported.

“Investigations revealed that the 2 residential units are linked, although they used different company names,”

“This syndicate has been active for at least a year. These Vietnamese ‘doctors’ are not certified or approved to perform such procedures,” Wan Mohammed Saupee further explained.
