As school holiday approaches, many parents would take the opportunity to bring their children out for a short trip.

Unfortunately for this family, what was supposed to be a fun trip ended up in a slight disappointment. According to Twitter user, Mediha, she has tweeted a picture of a notice board in Genting, stating that there are 12 rides unavailable in their indoor theme park.

In her tweet, she said:

“Seriously, @RW_Genting, with these many rides unavailable, I wonder why Skytropolis (indoor theme park) is even open.”

Mediha shared with WORLD OF BUZZ on what had happened during her trip to Genting.

She said:

“I visited Genting’s Skytropolis Indoor theme park last Saturday (3 September). My family and I arrived at the theme park around 2:30pm and we saw the notice board mentioning that there are 12 rides unavailable.”

“The website stated that there are more than 20 rides in the indoor theme park, with 12 of them being closed!”

“It was quite frustrating to see that as we came all the way from Kuala Lumpur. I already purchased the tickets via an online booking platform on 28 August 2022 and spent a little over RM300 on the 1-Day Unlimited Ride Pass for my family of 5.”

“My kids were disappointed when they found out but fortunately, they didn’t let it ruin their day.”

“Due to limited rides available, the queue was extremely long, and each ride took us about 1 hour to queue for it. Thankfully, my children were good sports and didn’t mind the long waiting time. While queueing, I met a family, and it was much sadder for them as they travelled all the way from Perlis and their kids were younger than mine”, she said.

She also mentioned that one of the towers in the Sky Towers ride was open and when she asked why the other part of the ride wasn’t operating, the staff said that they were short staffed.

As of now, Resorts World Genting has yet to respond to Mediha and no compensations were made despite having more than half of the rides in the theme park unavailable.

Tune in for updates.
