Desperate Malaysian Gets Sent To The Wrong Petrol ‘Station’ By Navigation App

Waze is no stranger to incorrect navigation directions that would send drivers to drive along a deserted back road, suggest an entirely different route, or make you drive on the wrong side of the road.

However, this man was looking for directions to the nearest petrol station only to find out that Waze had directed him to their regional office instead.

Here is a video of the incident.

Taking to social media, this driver shared: “Unfortunately, I am left with only 6km’s worth of fuel.”

“I used Waze to get me to the nearest petrol station, and it guided me to their office instead.”

The video, which garnered 150k views, saw netizens sharing their own stories of not being able to find a petrol station in their time of need.

“I once searched for Petronas when my petrol almost ran out. It did not take me to a petrol pump, instead took me to a place where Petronas sold cooking gas instead.”

“Other times, the app would take me to out-of-service petrol stations, too.”

Another hilarious netizen shared a similar situation of getting lost, but under a slightly different circumstance.

“This one time, I wanted to pee really badly, so I asked for directions to the nearest petrol station.”

“I was made to drive to the same location, too.”

Let’s hope that this incident will teach all of us, the importance of being extra prepared for a journey.
