Following the viral belly dancing and the closure of the popular Arabic dessert store in Bukit Bintang, DBKL has seemed to up their game recently.
Just yesterday (August 25), on their official Facebook page, DBKL revealed they have towed a number of 24 cars in Jalan Ampang and Bukit Bintang and 15 motorcycles that were parked illegally which obstructed the traffic.
Through the Traffic Warden Officer of the Enforcement Department, a special traffic action was implemented on Thursday night (August 24), where a total of 67 compounds were issued to vehicle owners and drivers who committed offenses related to traffic obstruction.
Bukit Bintang has been “under fire” recently due to the viral issues and DBKL said that the special traffic action was implemented after they received multiple complaints from the public regarding the traffic offenses.
“The pedestrian road and the pathways for the people with disabilities were also obstructed.”
Towed and transported vehicles are transferred to DBKL Jalan Pahang Vehicle Towing Storage Depot for temporary storage and documentation/claim process.
In the FB post, DBKL reminded all road users and premises owners to obey the rules and traffic signals set by the authorities.
“Vehicle owners are also reminded to park at the designated spots to avoid obstructing the traffic and the pedestrian lanes,” DBKL added.
This does not just apply to Bukit Bintang. Regardless of where you are, always abide by the traffic rules set by the authorities to avoid creating trouble towards other users.
