From “curve” to lines. A mall in Damansara that had ceased operations in 2021 will soon be demolished to make way for a residential project.

According to a report, the demolition of the e-Curve shopping mall is set to take place in the 2nd quarter of 2024, and the plan to re-developed the place is part of a bigger plan to revitalise Mutiara Damansara in PJ.

E@Curve

As nostalgic as the place is, we have to bid farewell to the e-Curve shopping mall and say hello to The Lines – a serviced apartment complex, expected to be launched somewhere in the 3rd quarter of 2024. At the time of writing, no specific dates have been set.

Here’s what you can expect from The Lines, which will feature 4 towers.

  • 3 with 749 units targeting the open market
  • 1 with 250 units designated under the Servis Apartment Mampu Milik (SAMM) affordable housing scheme.

If you’re planning to find shelter in The Lines, you’ll be glad to know that the place is expected to have 50 retail lots covering about 100,000 sq ft. A wellness center has also been planned for the place.

The tower stands at 67 storeys and is designed with seniors in mind, featuring wider doors, accessible bathrooms, and gentle slopes. The Lines is also easily accessible to the Mutiara Damansara MRT station, which is only a walking distance away, with the 1 Utama and The Starling shopping mall just less than 10 minutes drive.

With more Malaysians going for electric vehicles, The Lines will also come with EV chargers.

As of now, The Lines is only open for private viewing, and will only be accessible to the public in June.

The e-Curve shopping mall was opened back in 2006 and eventually closed its doors in 2021.

It is definitely a nostalgic memory-filled place, especially for those who used to lepak there on the weekend back then. What do you think of the new project?
