Good neighbours and living in a peaceful community are also blessings that many of us tend to overlook.

In a viral TikTok video by @fitramlan, a Malaysian woman shared the moment when her Chinese neighbour was “caught” planting a lime tree outside her house, for the 3rd time. Gardening is no easy task and requires a lot of patience (skills too), so it was generous of her neighbour, Lim to help in “giving back life” to the dying lime tree outside her house.

In a conversation with WORLD OF BUZZ, the Malaysian woman, Fitrina said Lim and her will do some gardening together in their respective backyards whenever they are free.

Very much like the “friendly neighbourhood, Spiderman”, Lim will always help whenever he can.

“Sometimes, he’ll water the plants for me if I am not around.”

And there is a reason why Lim is committed to taking care of the lime tree. Let’s just say, he understands his neighbour and the community well.

“He knows that the Malays often plant lime trees so they can use the lime to make Sambal Belacan,” Fitrina told WORLD OF BUZZ.

The best part is, Lim is not expecting anything in return (as long as Fitrina gets to make a good, spicy portion of Sambal Belacan!). The neighbours made a pact that Lim would “watch over” her lime tree, but Fitrina would take all the fruits, to which Lim happily agreed.

“My lime tree was dead for 3 times, and Lim was the saviour for all 3 times.”

Fitrina, who is staying in Kluang, Johor said that Lim also helped in planting chilli trees for her in the past, as well as mowing the lawn in her backyard. Fitrina also told WORLD OF BUZZ that the community in her residence is nothing but a place of peace and serenity.

“Everyone is nice to each other around here. Those who do gardening here will always share the outcome with each other. No one steals from each other.”
