Catch Meerqeen & Mimi Lana in Astro Original’s Premium Series, ‘Framed’, From 3 May on Astro Premier!

Astro is once again challenging the norms of the entertainment industry by presenting ‘Framed‘, a premium drama series from Astro Originals, produced by Astro Shaw in collaboration with Independent Pictures Sdn Bhd. This latest drama series showcases a mystery conspiracy involving fate and several uncontrollable events. ‘Framed’ premieres on 3 May 2024, 9pm on Astro Premier (CH 410), with fast episodes available every week starting at midnight On Demand, Astro GO and sooka.

‘Framed’, directed by well-known director, producer and writer, Sein Qudsi while the original story and script was by Kyle Ezra Groonting. This 8-episode premium drama features a popular line-up including Meerqeen (Edi) and Mimi Lana (Lia), as well as Sangeetha (Rita), Ram RAAGA (Navin), Riz Amin (Gibran), Zamarul Hisyam (Mansur), Khir Rahman (Hassan), Nam Ron (Aziz), and Ka Hoe (Ka Hong).

Vice President, Head of Astro Shaw & Nusantara Malay Business, Raja Jastina Raja Arshad, who also serves as the Executive Producer of ‘Framed’, said, “We understand that our audience wants stories that are fresh and of high quality. For the first time, we took the initiative to present a story inspired by real events that highlight social issues close to the community by focusing on environmental conspiracies. Framed unravels a storyline through clues found in a polaroid camera, leaving the audience guessing. We hope the audience will enjoy watching Framed and in turn elevate local works to international levels.”

Director of ‘Framed’, Sein Qudsi, said, “Framed is unlike any of my previous works and I’m thankful that the overall production went well, and we were able to produce a series that is consistent with the look and feel of this being a premium series. I hope the audience will be as excited as we are to see the storyline of ‘Framed’ unfold.”

‘Framed’, a drama series with an intriguing narrative, follows Lia’s journey. She is a journalist who discovers an old polaroid where the camera is capable of printing moments of future tragedies. Guided by the printed images, Lia unintentionally begins an investigation to uncover the story of her mother’s disappearance. During this investigation, Lia meets Edi, an environmental activist. Together, they uncover clues about an environmental pollution conspiracy that occurred in the city of Krung Merah 10 years ago, linked to the loss of her family member.

Apart from unravelling criminal issues involving family members, the premium series ‘Framed’ also uncovers conspiracy investigations and hopefully raise awareness about the importance and responsibility that each individual in preserving and conserving the environment. In addition, Nadira Zaini sings the soundtrack to ‘Framed’ with the song titled, ‘Udara’, produced by Iqie Hugh, Shazeriq Azeman, and Omar K. Astro customers can also experience the ‘Framed Experiential Journey’, available soon at the Astro Experience Store, IOI City Mall.
