Our new government, Pakatan Harapan has managed to establish themselves over the past few weeks after their victorious win in the recent general elections. But recently, someone from the opposition party was seen in close proximity with one of PH’s leaders.
Penang PKR Youth chief, Khairil Anuar Kamarudin has warned Pakatan Harapan (PH) to be cautious about former Barisan Nasional (BN) members, saying that such people might have plans to destroy PH from the inside, according to the Malay Mail.
This came about when state PKR Youth information chief Mohd Ikhwan Nasser, randomly shared a photo of PKR de facto leader, Anwar Ibrahim on Facebook when he visited Cherok Tok Kun. Shortly after, hundreds of people started commenting and pointed out that a man in the photo is a BN supporter.
The man was identified as Mohd Eddy Casmady, who was seen in videos during the general election as anti-Pakatan Harapan.
“To our shock, some of the netizens showed videos of him condemning PH and DAP in a campaign video for BN during the election,” Ikhwan said in a press conference at Komtar Walk today (May 28).
“We have learnt Eddy was part of former Umno minister Ismail Sabri’s media team.”
Checks confirmed that Eddy was credited as the Briged Kesatria Muda deputy chief in his videos, which is a group closely aligned with Umno.
“Somebody asked Eddy why he was with Anwar. Eddy told them he was part of Anwar’s team. That is not likely, because Anwar does not have a media team at the moment,” he said.
“We feel that he could have been there to mess up the party.”
Khairil then urged the government not to accept these people – which he labelled as “parasites” – who are seeking to take advantage of PH for their own personal benefit, reported Free Malaysia Today.
“Due to PH winning the federal government, we expect more parasites from Umno to enter PH but they are doing this not to serve the party,” he added.
“We don’t want a repeat of what happened in 1998 and 2008, when Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was framed and jailed.”
He then suggested that new officers appointed to work closely with Anwar should be evaluated thoroughly by the party’s central political bureau first, and that such positions should be given to PKR supporters, instead of allowing Umno members to have the role.
Do you think there could be a possible ‘spy’ in PH seeking to cause trouble?
