Most of the time, a car that is parked outside the designated space tends to trouble the other drivers and worse, it may even obstruct the traffic.

However, for an image that recently went viral, you be the judge. The Facebook page Penang 槟城 shared an image of a Perodua Axia that was parked horizontally on a vertical parking spot. Based on the image, the passenger of the Viva next to the Axia may have some trouble getting into the car. The caption revealed that the incident took place at one of the shopping malls in Penang.

From the way it looks, the Axia does not seem to be obstructing the traffic. So, what does our fellow Malaysians think about it?

Surprisingly (maybe not?), most Malaysians actually applaud the driver of the Axia for parking his vehicle in such a manner. According to some of them, it did not only leave the traffic in the parking lot unobstructed but it paved the way for another vehicle of the same size to park beside the Axia.

‘It’s not even affecting the traffic, and it’s even better.’

‘That’s a friendly driver.’

Most of them also agreed that it was actually a good idea for the Axia to park that way.

Sharing is caring

Others agreed that ‘some things are meant to be shared,’ and in this case, a parking spot.

‘I think it’s fine. 1 parking spot for 2 cars, and it didn’t block the traffic.’

‘It’s fine. Half of the spot can be shared with others.’

If your car could fit into the other half of the parking spot, would you have parked there? Do you think this is a good way as a visitor of the mall to ‘ease’ others in the hunt for a parking spot?
