A video shared via MYNEWSHUB has been going around online showing a man walking up to a motorcyclist and hitting him while they were stopped at a red light.

The man, who was allegedly drunk, got out of a Toyota Vellfire MPV and hit the back of the 24-year-old motorcyclist at the Kota Syah Bandar intersection on March 15, according to Sinar Harian.

Other road users tried to help the motorcyclist

Melaka Tengah police chief, Christopher Patit, said the motorcyclist then got off his bike and pushed the man in response, which led to a commotion.

Some nearby road users stepped in to help, but before it got worse, the 25-year-old suspect got back into his car and drove off.

“Several people nearby rushed to help the motorcyclist, and a scuffle broke out. But the suspect eventually got back into his vehicle and took off,” he said.

The case is being investigated under Sections 323/506 of the Penal Code for causing harm and criminal intimidation.
