As we complete a full month of Movement Control Order (MCO), many businesses are already feeling the strain as a result of their businesses either being closed or they are experiencing a decrease in income.

This is especially true for our beloved street food stalls.

Tiger’s is donating RM1.5 MILLION in their ‘Save Our Street Food’ Campaign

And out of the RM1.5 million, RM1 million will be made available immediately and given to more than 1,200 street food vendors who are operating in coffee shops and food courts nationwide.

The funding will be used to help cover rent for street food vendors, coffee shops and food courts across the country as they face reduced income due to ongoing restrictions.

“We hope that the Tiger ‘Save Our Street Food’ fund goes some way to easing their financial burden during this tough time, and look forward to supporting them further as conditions improve,” said Roland Bala, Managing Director of Heineken Malaysia Berhad.

Here’s how you can take part in this initiative!

Tiger came up with these mechanics to make it more fun and beneficial for us Malaysians to help these street vendors. All you have to do is:

  1. Purchase a voucher for a big bottle of Tiger or Tiger Crystal at Drinkies website
  2. It’s now going for RM10 (instead of the usual price of RM17)
  3. This voucher can then be redeemed at any of the participating food courts and coffee shops nationwide when they reopen.

The purchase of vouchers will be able to be redeemed once restrictions are relaxed.

For every RM10 spent, Tiger Beer will contribute ANOTHER RM17, helping these outlets get back on their feet.

So, you can buy yourself a drink to enjoy at home while contributing back to our precious street food spots.

It Doesn’t Only Stop There

The Tiger ‘Save Our Street Food’ fund is part of a comprehensive package of support for F&B Operators and the wider community by Heineken Malaysia Berhad (HEINEKEN  Malaysia).

Also not forgetting about the B40 families, HEINEKEN Malaysia recently announced that it was providing 80,000 meals to more than 3,000 B40 community members located around the brewery premises.

Furthermore, they also launched another initiative known as #SupportOurStreets where consumers are encouraged to stay off the streets as part of continued safe distancing measures across the region.

Heineken Malaysia Berhad isn’t planning on stopping anytime soon as more initiatives on helping outlet owners and other associated business partners are expected to be announced in the coming times.
