Attention, Harimau Malaya fans!
Just last night (11th December), Malaysia and Vietnam drew 2-2 during the first leg of the AFF Suzuki Cup at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium in an adrenaline-fuelled match.
Now, Harimau Malaya will be facing Vietnam once again in the second leg this Saturday (15th December), this time, on their home turf in Hanoi, Vietnam.
To help reign in more Malaysian supporters, AirAsia will be providing special flights to Hanoi so more Harimau Malaya fans can show their support during the second leg of the AFF Suzuki Cup finals.
According to Free Malaysia Today, AirAsia Group CEO Tan Sri Tony Fernandes stated that the number of aircraft available would depend on the approval of Hanoi airport authorities.
On top of that, travellers can also expect great promotional prices to ensure more Malaysians can fly to Hanoi to show their support for the national team. Tan Sri Tony Fernandes was quoted by the New Straits Times as saying,
“Malaysia needs as much support as possible. When I was in Hanoi, I saw that the people there went crazy and their national team won. We (AirAsia) will try to arrange things.”
“What we are trying to do is get flights to take off from Bangkok (if we can’t increase the number of flights from Malaysia) and we will use bigger aircraft.”
“If we don’t get the slots or the rights, we will work with the Football Association of Malaysia and the Ultras Malaya.”
